She has received a diploma in Secretarial Studies from Balmatta Institute of Language and Vocational Studies, Mangalore, India. She migrated to Chicago, Illinois in 1987. She is a founder member of Kala Sampath Lions Club since 1996 and served as Secretary, Treasurer, and II Vice President, Queenie has received many awards including Lions Clubs International Foundation’s highest honor – Melvin Jones Fellow – recognition for her commitment to humanitarian work. She has received the President’s Award for Community Services from the past President of US, George W. Bush. She is the founder editor of mangalorean.com and served as Chief Editor for seven years. She has served as Secretary of Federation of Indo American Christians of North America for three years. She is a Founder member of Mangalorean Konkan Christians Associations, USA and has served as Publicity and Public Relations Officer since its inception in 2003 for 7yrs and is the Immediate Past President of the Association. She is married to Jossie Mendonca and is blessed with two energetic kids, Joswin and Jason.
